Ji Hye Jeon, born in the innovative society of South Korea, has found home in the beautiful island of St. Lucia. She is proudly loyal to both cultures and traditions as her distinct character creates a cultural “potpourri”.
She refers to her artwork, in local terms, a “bouillon” — a blend of innovation and creativity from South Korean background and notable artistic inspirations from St. Lucia.
Ji Hye’s art pieces are painted with paper; different grades, forms and weight of paper is manipulated to result in a particular design with varying techniques to accentuate the iconic elements of the subject.
The intricate details arouse one’s visuals as the artistry borders a 2-d sculpture and craftwork, creating new illusions at varying angles of perception.
